On April 30, 2012 I sent Gerry a link to a home in Marion, MA. In the email I wrote:
"We should look at 7 Wildflower Lane as soon as possible. It would be a great place to relax and entertain friends. It would just become our new lifestyle - vacation money would go toward this instead. It's a Marion address which is good; it is close to the water in a lovely location. It's not far from Marion center which has a social life, shopping, etc. Maybe the library job will come up some day? We could have the bees there. It's 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths and 3,071 square feel with 3.3 acres. You asked me what I envision. I envision somewhere to vacation with family and go for weekend with friends. There is ocean and village life in a Marion address."We drove by the house sometime in early May and liked the location and setting. We spent some time driving the East Marion peninsula past the Stone Estate and Great Hill Dairy and along the western coast towards Kittanset Golf Club. In May we had many festivities including my 60th birthday in Rockport, MA and youngest daughter Ciara's wedding on Isla Mujeres, Cancun, Mexico over Memorial Day weekend. In addition, Gerry had a weekend away at the Cape playing golf May 17-20. So, I didn't get a look inside 7 Wildflower until our busy May was nearly over on Thursday, May 31. After viewing the house and property, I called Gerry immediately and left a message which was something like this:
"You'll love it here until you move into assisted living somewhere!"In other words, it was just the place I had envisioned for us as a great place to relax and eventually retire. Gerry and I made a second visit together on Saturday, June 2 and made an immediate offer. We also visited an 'in town' antique in Marion Center but we loved the solitude and property in East Marion and Wildflower Lane. Here's hoping all goes well and we move in in July.
